Bertrand, a French citizen, left his home country in his 20s to pursue a master’s degree in business administration in the United Kingdom and then Germany. He spent his entire career leading U.S. and European companies’ businesses, primarily in building materials and home products in Europe and the US. Bertrand speaks four major European languages fluently and has lived in eight countries over 30 years. He developed a passion for the environment and wildlife, and especially sea turtles, after an encounter in Majorca at the age of 10. Ever since, he has continued to support numerous wildlife and environmental organizations in Europe and Africa, notably in the fight against plastic pollution in the ocean. More recently, Bertrand has joined his wife, Jennifer who works for the UN World Food Program, in Dakar, Senegal and is committed to working with AACF in the defense of sea turtles.
